Philadelphia Eagles, NFL Draft watch: Mocking all 32 picks in Round 1
By Smit Bajaj
The Pats wind up with one of the Philadelphia Eagles’ prospects.
13. Los Angeles Chargers: OT Christian Darrisaw, Virginia Tech
Much like the Bengals, the Los Angeles Chargers need to protect their franchise quarterback. Christian Darrisaw is someone who already has a high ceiling, but he can still progress to become a true franchise offensive tackle.
Justin Herbert was the ninth most sacked quarterback in his rookie year, so and adding Darrisaw would certainly help his production.
14. Minnesota Vikings: Edge Gregory Rousseau, Miami
Rousseau has one of the highest ceilings in this draft, but it may take him a while to reach it. At six-foot-five and with a wingspan of almost seven-feet, the Miami product has the physical traits necessary to become a top-tier edge rusher in this league. The only issue is his lack of experience as he only played one year of college football. Still, a team will certainly target him in the first round and the Vikings defense would greatly benefit from adding him.
15. New England Patriots: WR Jaylen Waddle, Alabama
The Patriots could go quarterback here, but with the top four quarterbacks off the board in this NFL mock draft, they’ll opt for a game-changing receiver. Jaylen Waddle is a pretty good consolation prize for a team that didn’t have a player with 750 receiving yards. Waddle is one of the fastest players in this draft and would give New England a true weapon on the outside.
16. Arizona Cardinals: CB Jaycee Horn, South Carolina
With an aging Patrick Peterson, an injury-prone Robert Alford, and Dre Kirkpatrick set to hit free agency this offseason, the Cardinals need to invest in the cornerback position this offseason. In this NFL mock draft, they’ll do exactly that by adding Jaycee Horn, a lengthy cornerback who plays with physicality.
