The Philadelphia Eagles might find a little magic at Magic Johnson’s alma mater.

Sometimes, it has to be hard being that other team in Michigan. The Spartans trail the Wolverines on the rivalry’s scoreboard by a 71–37–5 margin, but as of late, Sparty’s made things more interesting. Nine of the last 13 games have gone not to the victors but the team in green.

Things didn’t go in the direction that Mel Tucker’s staff would have liked in 2020. A 2-5 win-loss total was the result, but that can’t be blamed on the efforts of Shakur Brown.

In his final season in East Lansing, he racked up 25 tackles, five picks, and four pass breakups in those seven games, giving him 54 total tackles, two sacks, seven picks, nine pass breakups, and a defensive touchdown for his 21-game career.

Brown is five-foot-eleven and tips the scales at 190 pounds. He made a few highlight-reel plays during the 2020 college football campaign, but the theory is, if he’s going to survive at the next level, he’ll need to put on a few more pounds.
