Philadelphia Eagles: 3 Realistic expectations for Jalen Hurts in Year 2
Jalen Hurts accounts for 35 total touchdowns.
Don’t stress too much about QB1 in Year 2. He’s too dedicated, too much of a grownup, and too professional not to figure things out. This guy works hard, and it’s hard to believe that he won’t see the fruits of his labor.
Here’s a rather reasonable expectation. Hurts is fully capable of leading two touchdown drives per game. Extrapolate that over the course of a 16-game schedule, account for him struggling in one or two contests, add in the fact that he leads one of the league’s worst teams in the NFL’s worst division, and we’re still probably looking at QB1 being responsible for about 35 Eagles touchdowns.
Let’s say he throws 25 touchdowns, gets that touchdown-to-interception ratio to about three to one, and he finds a way to run for ten scores with his legs. Yep, that’s pretty reasonable.
You heard it here first. While this may not translate to a .500 winning percentage, Philly and their fans should still see some fireworks on the offensive side of the ball.
Keep your fingers crossed. The Birds have question marks, but their quarterback situation might look better than that of the Washington Football Team or the New York Giants. That’s a pretty safe assumption.
