2013: OT Lane Johnson, Philadelphia Eagles

After being selected at fourth overall in 2013’s selection meeting, Lane Johnson had lofty expectations coming into the NFL. He delivered on almost all of them. Aside from a few injuries and a suspension, Johnson has been the textbook definition of the word ‘dependable’.

In 2017, he was a first-team All-Pro player who had cemented himself as the best right tackle in the league. Almost four years later, he’s coming off of an injury-ladened season, and there’s some concern that he may be on the downward slope of his career.

One thing that’s for sure is that Howie Roseman built the Eagles through the trenches. That’s the reason the team found so much success in 2017 was because of how dominant both sides of the line were.

From 2010-2013, the Eagles spent four first-round picks on offensive and defensive linemen. While one of them was a complete disaster, the other three panned out extremely well and are cornerstones of the franchise. Grade: A-
