806. . . . Jayson Oweh, Penn State. . player

Might Jayson Oweh be someone the Philadelphia Eagles are considering?

Yeah, what you’re probably thinking is obvious. The last time the Philadelphia Eagles went with an edge rusher from Penn State, things didn’t work out too well. Let’s be honest though. If that’s the extent of your research, you might want to step your game up a tad.

Philly’s last Nittany Lion edge rusher was Shareef Miller, who the Birds released before his second season. The Carolina Panthers claimed him off waivers and released him, and the Eagles reacquired him and released him after having him on the practice squad for less than two months.

He’s now with the Arizona Cardinals and still hasn’t recorded a sack in his NFL career.

Anyone that’s ever thought about using Jayson Oweh‘s name and the Philadelphia Eagles in the same sentence can take some solace in knowing that Jayson Oweh isn’t Shareef Miller. He isn’t quite as talented as Gregory Rousseau or Kwity Paye. He might not even be as good as Jaelan Phillips, but he should be ranked ahead of Carlos Basham, Rashad Weaver, or Joe Tryon.

He’s had some inconsistency issues, including only being able to rack up four sacks over his last 18 games, but with the right coaching, he could be something special.
