The Philadelphia Eagles see the top two quarterbacks get drafted.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars: QB Trevor Lawrence, Clemson

Through all of the craziness of this draft season, this is a theory that hasn’t seemed to change. Following his freshman season at Clemson, Trevor Lawrence made a name for himself and landed on the radar of all 32 NFL teams. It’s almost impossible to find a weakness in his ability.

His physical attributes are impressive, but what’s more impressive is his ability to simply win football games. Lawrence started in 36 games at Clemson, and he won 34 of them. He’s a lock to be selected first overall.

2. New York Jets: QB Zach Wilson, BYU

After the Sam Darnold trade to Carolina, it’s clear that the Jets will take a signal-caller with the second overall pick in the NFL Draft. Zach Wilson has been linked with New York, and although he isn’t Trevor Lawrence, the former BYU Cougar is still an impressive prospect with the ability to turn the Jets into a winning football team.

How do these first two selections impact the Philadelphia Eagles?

There were reports that the Eagles were interested in Zach Wilson, and the team liked him enough to send two offensive coaches to BYU’s pro day. Ian Rapoport even said that the Eagles were interested in trading up to the third overall pick, but only for Wilson.

Of course, the Jets will likely select the former BYU quarterback with the second overall pick, so a trade-up for Wilson would have been unsuccessful. At twelve, the Eagles aren’t in the market for a quarterback anyway, so these picks have little impact on their draft.
