Philadelphia Eagles draft: 2 Reasons Jaycee Horn is a perfect selection
By Smit Bajaj
All Philadelphia Eagles fans have to do is read the scouting report.
When Jaycee Horn is off in coverage, Horn’s vision and football instincts make him a danger to throw against. He has a tremendous feel for the game and his outstanding physical attributes allow him to attack the ball with a sudden burst. Surtain’s short-area quickness has been called into question, and it’s clear that Horn bests him in this category.
In man or in zone coverage, Horn can get it done. According to Pro Football Focus, the South Carolina cornerback only allowed eight catches in 239 coverage snaps last season. There’s no need to tell you how ridiculous that is. Did we mention he played in the SEC?
If we’re talking measurables, Jaycee Horn has it in spades. At the South Carolina pro day, he ran a 4.39 40-yard dash and recorded a vertical jump of 41.5 inches. He has the height, speed, and physicality to be the next best cornerback in this league.
