Might the Lions finally look like the Lions versus the Philadelphia Eagles?
Hopefully, this is the year that the Lions look like, well, the Lions. They aren’t divisional rivals, but they play relatively often it seems, and for whatever reason, whenever the Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions hook up for a football game, it’s often Philly that looks more like the cursed franchise. They just can’t figure this Detroit puzzle out.
Throughout the first 101 seasons of NFL football, these two are dead even in the overall series. Philly has 16 wins. The Lions have 16 wins. They’ve tied twice, but here’s the thing.
The Eagles have dropped four of their last five to the Lions, including an embarrassing 45-14 loss on Thanksgiving in 2015 and a loss in 2016 where the game ended with Carson Wentz being picked off by Darius Slay of all people.
Heading into 2021, the Eagles are in the midst of a three-game losing streak to these guys. What gives? Aren’t the Lions supposed to be the snakebitten franchise?
Don’t worry though guys and gals. This is the year. This is the season where Philly finally gets around the Lions. At least we all hope so.
