Philadelphia Eagles top 3 roster moves of their 2021 offseason
DeVonta Smith could be the boost the Philadelphia Eagles offense needs.
Howie Roseman deserves a ton of credit for what he has done. He traded away the sixth pick, collected a future first-round pick, and was still able to land the Heisman trophy winner, Alabama Crimson Tide receiver DeVonta Smith. He’s everything you want in a wideout.
He’s quick, fast, sure-handed, an amazing route runner, and he possesses the football intelligence that coaches love. Arguably the best receiver in the entire draft, it was a surprise that he was available with the tenth pick. What’s even better than that is this. The Philadelphia Eagles jumped the rival Giants to land the star.
Versatility is the key with Smith, and he has that in bunches. A man that’s capable of playing all three receiver spots, look for Smith to be moved around the offense to help create matchup issues for opposing defenses.
He also has the ability to take a punt to the house and affect the game in that way. Despite his thin frame, the former Crimson Tide product has a nastiness to his playing style. He never seems to get rattled, and most importantly, he has the best hands on the team.
Moving forward, expect to hear DeVonta Smith’s name called a lot as he should be a difference-maker for years to come.
