The Philadelphia Eagles finally crack that Detroit Lions riddle.

If you hadn’t seen it for yourself and all that you knew about these teams was their histories outside of one another on the football field, you’d probably believe that this was a series that Philly dominated, especially as of late.

Nope! This one is dead even.

The Detroit Lions have won 16 games. The Philadelphia Eagles have won 16 games. These two teams even have two ties in their head-to-head history. How does that happen versus the lowly Lions?

Sure, Philly’s had their moments in the series. There was that 58-point outburst in that playoff game. You know the one. That was the night that Philly put up 31 in the second quarter.

There was that day when LeSean McCoy ran wild in the snow, but it’s hard to shake the fact that Philly’s lost three in a row and four of the last five to this Lions franchise. What gives? What’s going on?

On the other hand, it seems like, every year, there are those games that Philly loses and shouldn’t. This shouldn’t be one of them. This might be one of those times where the Birds take care of business in a game that they’re supposed to win. Keep those fingers crossed. Eagles fans aren’t going to be able to handle four straight losses to Detroit. They’ve been through too much recently.

Final score: Eagles 31, Lions 27 (2021-2022 Eagles record: 4-4)
