2. player. 54. . . . Jordan Howard, running back

Well, he’s back, but is he better than what the Philadelphia Eagles already have?

Here’s one of those things that always causes a stir in the Philadelphia Eagles fan base, bringing back the popular guys for one last ride. At the risk of sounding combative, here’s one of those things that always raises the antenna. Why can’t some of you see that Jason Peters has nothing left before he’s re-signed and standing on the sideline after looking tired and old during games?

Why didn’t some of you know that one more run with LeSean McCoy wasn’t going to work? Oh, don’t act like you weren’t one of the ones that said you wanted him back now!

It seems like it’s been nine years since it happened, but once upon a time, Miles Sanders was the backup to Jordan Howard. A lot has happened since then. Jordan Howard sat out of action in 2019 for a month and a half with a stinger. He’s since left to join the Miami Dolphins, and that didn’t work, and yes, even though the evidence to support ignoring him was plentiful, there were those Birds fans that couldn’t wait to get him back to Philadelphia.

Time will prove who’s right, but in the meantime, Philly’s running back room has a budding star in Miles Sanders, and he’s followed on the depth chart by everyone from Kenneth Gainwell, Elijah Holyfield, and Jason Huntley to Kerryon Johnson, Boston Scott, and Adrian Killins. The last guy on that list signed a two-year deal recently. Are you sure that Jordan Howard needs to be placed in the top four on that list?
