The 2020 Heisman trophy winner is arguably the most popular Philadelphia Eagle, and he hasn’t even taken a regular-season snap. DeVonta Smith has all the talent in the world to be a Pro-Bowl caliber wide receiver for the Eagles for a decade, something the Eagles haven’t had in over 10-plus seasons.

No matter who the quarterback is for the Eagles in the now and future, Smith’s development is very important. Having an elite weapon on offense is essential in today’s NFL. There are very big expectations for Smith, but even in his first season, many expect him to meet them.

The Eagles have been without a premier player at this position since DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin departed in the mid-2010s. GM Howie Roseman has spent a first-round draft pick on the receiver position the past two years, he cannot afford to miss on both. Smith’s success will propel this team forward.
