Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Josh Sweat

At six-foot-five and 250 pounds, former Florida State Seminoles defensive end Josh Sweat has great size to go along with his dominant presence on the outside. Considered a project coming out of college, Sweat has had to overcome injury concerns at the collegiate level.

Still, aside from that, Sweat has been relatively injury-free as a professional. What he can also be credited with is how dominant he’s been when he’s gotten a shot to play. The former fourth-round selection has seemed to get better and better as the games and years have gone on.

A true terror coming off the edge, opposing offenses have taken notice of the Virginia product. He’s mostly come off of the bench during games, Sweat may have been the best pass-rusher on this team during the 2020 season.

Fast forward to the present, and by all reports, Josh Sweat has continued his rise on the Philadelphia Eagles defensive depth chart. Some even say he has been the best pass rusher in training camp so far. What was once considered a project in 2018, Sweat is slowly becoming a star. One that can be a superstar in the near future. He’s definitely surpassed Derek Barnett, who the Eagles still seem to favor more.
