Five 49ers defensive standouts that could give the Philadelphia Eagles fits

Nick Bosa, defensive end

It is absolutely impossible to have a conversation about San Francisco’s difference-makers and not bring up Nick Bosa. We’ve talked at length about how good Jordan Mailata has gotten. We’ll know a whole lot more about the fan-favorite after this one.

Dee Ford, defensive end

As if keeping up with Nick Bosa isn’t challenging enough, the Niners have Dee Ford to contend with on the other side. He got his first sack of the season in Week 1. Lane Johnson will have a busy day in Week 2.

Fred Warner, outside linebacker

Add Fred Warner to a long list of San Francisco 49ers that can change a game’s momentum with a single play. He racked up 11 total tackles including seven that were of the solo variety in Week 1. You can expect that he’ll be all over Lincoln Financial Field making life difficult for the Birds.

Deommodore Lenoir,

With Jason Verrett now on the 49ers’ injured reserve, Deommodore Lenoir steps in to fill the void as San Francisco’s CB1, but this isn’t someone that you pick on because you don’t know him. While he isn’t in Verrett’s class yet, he’s nothing to sneeze at. He was rock solid in Week 1 and played 98 percent of the defensive snaps.

Jaquiski Tart, safety

This is one of those guys that you may not know that well, but he’s a monster. The Birds better know where he is at all times when they have the ball.
