The chemistry between the Philadelphia Eagles QB1 and star WR is apparent.

The level of chemistry between former Alabama teammates DeVonta Smith and the aforementioned Hurts has already been on display as Smith is tied with last year’s first-round pick, Jalen Reagor, for the team lead in catches (8) and already has 15 targets on the season.

Smith was used in a variety of ways in Tuscaloosa, both inside and out wide, and the Philadelphia Eagles should continue to utilize him all over the field in order to maximize his massive potential.

The Alabama product gives Hurts yet another wideout that can take the top off of a defense. He nearly connected with the QB on what would’ve been a 54-yard touchdown on Philly’s first possession of the game.

While the ball may have been under-thrown a bit, just knowing that Jalen Hurts felt comfortable enough taking that type of shot downfield was encouraging to say the least.

Smith and company have a Week 3 Monday Night Football showdown with a long-time divisional rival, the Dallas Cowboys on September 27. Time will tell if the team is able to translate its penchant for big plays into points on the scoreboard.
