The Philadelphia Eagles defense is going to have a lot of winners.

Winner: Javon Hargrave, defensive tackle

In all honestly, what else can be said about defensive tackle Javon Hargrave?. Thoughts of him earning his first Pro Bowl nod and All-Pro season are occurring more frequently. Hargrave continues to be a dominant presence, and in Week 5, he notched three tackles, one tackle for loss, and one sack.

Winner: Darius Slay, cornerback

There have been questions about whether or not Darius Slay has lost a step, but he silenced the critics with three total tackles, including one tackle for a loss of yardage, and not one but two interceptions to help the Eagles secure a win. Slay looked like his former self in Week 5.

Winner: Jonathan Gannon, defensive coordinator

Eagles’ first-year defensive coordinator, Jonathan Gannon, answered the call in this game. He used many different packages disguises that allowed this defense to be successful. It was a remarkable ability to see how he was able to change up his scheme so quickly.

Winner: Josh Sweat, defensive end

The Eagles’ investment in defensive end Josh Sweat continues to pay off. After a slow start to the season, Sweat has come up big over the past few weeks with this game being no different.

He was consistently busting through the Panthers’ offensive line and was able to end the game with four total tackles and a sack.

Winner: T.J Edwards, linebacker

T.J Edwards is quietly becoming an unsung hero for this defense. His ball skills continuously improve game after game, and his ability to read exactly what the offenses are giving him.

He came in huge in Week 5 with five total tackles and a blocked punt that completely changed the momentum and allowed the Birds to score.
