These Philadelphia Eagles are just pure letdowns in Week 7

Dud: Jordan Mailata, Tackle.

Typically Jordan Mailata finds himself on the ladder of this list, but in Week 7, the starting left tackle struggled. Saying he got worked is an understatement.

Mailata, for a majority of the game, was working versus Yannick Ngakoue, who had not even recorded a sack until this game. He was beaten pretty regularly by Ngakoue and gave up several pressures. He also had a facemask penalty which negated a 20-yard run by Jalen Hurts.

Several times during this game, it looked like Mailata just gave up. Maybe the injury is bothering him more than we believed it would, but this isn’t a good look for a guy who just signed a significant deal.

Dud: Eric Wilson, Linebacker.

It is almost an injustice to continue to talk about Eric Wilson, but he just continues to make bad play after bad play, this game against Vegas being no different. Wilson missed tackles, he played poorly in coverage, and he looked lost for the most part, but again, that’s no surprise. Let’s move on.

Dud: Landon Dickerson, Guard.

Coming out of college, a common thought that surrounded rookie, Landon Dickerson, is that if he were healthy, he could be the best interior lineman taken in this draft class. So far this season, he hasn’t played that way. He’s been functional at best, and that’s being gracious.

These Philadelphia Eagles need to start shaping up before they get shipped out.

Dud: Jalen Hurts, Quarterback.

Did Jalen Hurts play the worse game of his career? No, he didn’t. Did this team lose because of him? Also no; however, he didn’t do the one thing that this team needed him to do. He didn’t give them a chance.

Sure he made some solid plays, but he put the ball in harm’s way more often than not, and he had some easy reads that he just bailed on or underthrew.

It should be noted that play-calling and his offensive line didn’t help him in the slightest (particularly on the left side of the line). Still, for a player who wants to be the face of the franchise, he has been on a three-week decline, and the wins are eluding this team because of it.

Dud: Ryan Kerrigan, Defensive End.

Currently, Ryan Kerrigan is living the American dream, getting paid millions to do literally nothing. It’s not that the Eagles haven’t noticed either. Kerrigan’s snapped count has dwindled over the past few weeks, and rightfully so.

The veteran defensive end has yet to tally a sack on the stat sheet, and his only tackle for a loss comes from the opposing player literally running into him. There are some winners and losers that came from the Birds free-agency period this past offseason, but Kerrigan definitely falls in the ‘dud’ column.
