Philadelphia Eagles stay or go: Which players make the cut in 2022?
The Philadelphia Eagles have some dead weight to trim in 2022.
Go: Brandon Brooks, guard
Age has caught up with Brandon Brooks. The injuries are coming more and more frequently, and truth be told, he’s much too expensive, especially when he’s spending so much time on the medical table.
Go: Jason Croom, tight end
Take Dallas Goedert and Tyree Jackson as the top two guys on the depth chart, and Jack Stoll and Jason Croom are suddenly battling for the third spot on the roster. Truthfully, on a better roster with more talent, neither of these guys make the team.
Go: Jack Stoll, tight end
Repeat the above line. Philly would be wise to seek better options elsewhere. Jack Stoll can block, but a lot of tight ends can do that.
Go: Andre Dillard, left tackle
Knowing that Jordan Mailata got his extension and Andre Dillard didn’t is very telling. Dillard’s salary is only going to swell from here, and it’s going to swell to a number that no one wants to give to a backup tackle that can only play on one side of the line.
Go: Brett Toth, tackle guard
Unless there are constant reminders, it’s hard to remember what Brett Toth is excellent at. He may never be someone that his team can trust to start in several games over the roughest parts of the season.
Go: Jack Anderson, center guard
Honestly, if you did a power ranking of the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive linemen, Jack Anderson may be the last man on the list. That sucks for him.
Go: Sua Opeta, guard
The Eagles walked into the 2021 season with three Stanford men on the roster. When they walk into the 2022 season, they may not employ any (more on that in a second).
