The Philadelphia Eagles have some warriors in the trenches and second level.

Stay: Tarron Jackson, defensive end

Tarron Jackson gets a grade after this season more than likely. A longer look will be necessary because everyone thought this is someone that can play above the level of where you might think based on where he was drafted.

Stay: Josh Sweat, defensive end

Josh Sweat can be effective if coached well and used effectively. We’ve all seen it. His dropoff may be yet another knock on this Eagles defense.

Stay: Javon Hargrave, defensive tackle

Here’s a decision Howie Roseman made that was the wrong one. Injuries and other issues kept Javon Hargrave from hitting that stride early, but he’s definitely found his groove now.

Stay: Hassan Ridgeway, defensive tackle

He’s played mostly as a reserve, but Hassan Ridgeway does some nice things. Keep him around because it’s always good to have depth players that don’t break the bank.

Stay: Milton Williams, defensive tackle

After investing a third-round draft choice in Milton Williams, Philly kind of has to give him some time to develop. This is someone we’re all cheering for.

Stay: Shaun Bradley, linebacker

It’s easy to forget that Shaun Bradley is on the team sometimes, but like Williams, this is someone we’d like to see flourish.

Stay: T.J. Edwards, linebacker

He may not be a three-down linebacker, and no one’s ever going to be able to coach him into being faster. T.J. Edwards is a nice depth piece though, and he contributes on special teams.

Stay: Patrick Johnson, linebacker

With all the versatility he showed at the collegiate level, it would be nice if the Eagles’ defensive coaches can help him bring it out on gameday.

Stay: Alex Singleton, linebacker

So far, Alex Singleton has taken a step back in 2021, but is that because he’s trying to do too many things? He can’t be everywhere at once.
