Eagles versus Chargers: Top prop bets to make for NFL Week 9 game
Another Eagles player prop worth taking advantage of in Week 9.
Bet No. 2
- DeVonta Smith Total Reception Yards (over 55.5 yards) -125
Three times during the first eight games of his rookie season in the NFL, DeVonta Smith has been limited to less than 55 yards receiving. That includes a one-catch, 15-yard outing in Detroit during Week 8’s game versus the Lions.
The Eagles haven’t given up on their ultra-talented rookie though. In six of Philly’s eight games, they targeted Smith six times or more. The only exceptions came versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6 and in the Eagles’ blowout victory over Detroit.
Keep a couple of things in mind though. Smith was only in for 44 snaps in Week 8, his lowest total of the season, as the Birds rested their starters for much of the second half. That probably won’t be how things play out in this one.
Expect a much closer game in Week 9. Expect the Eagles to try to feed the ball to Smith as much as possible as they try to avoid a loss and the possibility of allowing the most recent Heisman Trophy winner to believe that they’ve lost any faith in him. This could be a big week for DeVonta. As a matter of fact, we’re banking on the fact that it will be.
