1. Miles Sanders hasn’t been put in the best position for success.

Think back to the offseason ahead of Miles Sanders’ sophomore campaign in the NFL. Former Eagles head coach Doug Pederson and his assistant head coach/running backs coach Duce Staley were telling us that Sanders was ready to shoulder the ‘full load’. It hasn’t even been 16 months since those words were said, but now people are acting as if he isn’t on the team anymore. How did we get here?

Though the argument can be made that Miles Sanders’ 2021 season hasn’t been his best, theories that he’s forgotten how to play or should be buried on the depth chart have gotten out of hand and are, in some cases, ridiculous.

We can all agree that the Eagles’ defense has been mismanaged. Everyone makes the argument that the offensive game plan hasn’t always placed Jalen Hurts in the best position to be successful. Why then can’t we agree that Sanders, one of the Eagles’ best offensive weapons over the past two seasons, might be experiencing a slump because he, first, hasn’t been given enough opportunities and, second, he hasn’t been utilized correctly.

That’s the argument that many of you made for Carson Wentz and Fletcher Cox. Why don’t the same rules apply to Miles Sanders?
