The Saints defense will attempt to make Jalen Hurts uncomfortable.

They aren’t the Chicago Bears of 1985 or the Saints of 1992 (if you’re looking for a more recent parallel), but New Orleans has some playmakers on the defensive side of the ball. Here are five guys that definitely deserve a mention.

Marshon Lattimore, cornerback

Marshon Lattimore is, quite possibly the man who will draw DeVonta Smith duty in Week 11. He’s a former first-round selection that already has three Pro Bowl nods on his resume (2017, 2019, 2020).

So far in 2021, he’s racked up 33 tackles, an interception, and ten pass breakups over the course of eight games.

Demario Davis, linebacker

It was pretty obvious early that Demario Davis was destined for a pretty fruitful career. Now, in his tenth season (and his fourth in New Orleans), he already has 65 total tackles, three sacks, and four pass breakups on his 2021 resume after nine games.

If only he played for the Philadelphia Eagles as opposed to playing against them in Week 11.

Cameron Jordan, defensive end

Cameron Jordan is one of those guys that you recognize even if you didn’t know much about this Saints roster. He has 33 total tackles, three sacks, and a forced fumble through New Orleans’ first nine games.

David Onyemata, defensive tackle

He isn’t quite the household name yet, but David Onyemata has just about everything needed to be a star in the NFL. After missing six games due to a suspension, his last three have put opposing offenses on the Saints schedule on notice.

Malcolm Jenkins, safety

How could we not mention Malcolm Jenkins? One of the NFL’s true iron men erhaps the best Eagles safety since Brian Dawkins, Jenkins helped the Birds win a Super Bowl but now patrols the backend of the Saints defense just as he did for the first five seasons of his career.
