. . Landon Dickerson, offensive line. 69. player. 54.

Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Landon Dickerson

Had Landon Dickerson not been on the sideline during the Alabama Crimson Tide’s march towards yet another College Football Playoff National Championship Trophy, he would have been taken off of the board long before the Philadelphia Eagles nabbed him with the 37th-overall selection in 2021’s NFL Draft.

Once it was realized that the Birds had scribbled his name on a draft card and the announcement was made it was realized that he’d be joining the nest, words like ‘steal’ began being tossed around.

No one had to work hard to find any scouts who believed that this was the best offensive lineman that didn’t play tackle in the selection meeting. For Philly, a team that needed both youth and depth along the offensive front, taking a chance on his health and gambling on his availability seemed worth the risk.

As expected, it took a while to get him on the field, but now that he’s playing, it’s easy to see the potential. His ability as a run blocker is ahead of his talent as a pass protector right now, but as he grows in the Eagles’ offense, he’ll be fine. Philadelphia definitely got their steal here.
