Philadelphia Eagles breakout players this team should build around
Philadelphia Eagles linebacker/special teams ace Shaun Bradley
Second-year linebacker/special teams ace Shaun Bradley walked into Week 11 of the NFL season as the league’s leader in special teams tackles. Then, he added another to the tally in Week 12.
The Philadelphia Eagles have, no doubt, known about Bradley’s talent for a while. He cut his teeth in the Birds backyard while playing for the Temple Owls from 2016 to 2019.
In 42 career games at the collegiate level, he racked up 255 total tackles, including 167 of the solo variety. Add that to a stat line that carries two sacks, three interceptions, a forced fumble, and three pass breakups.
He’s evolved into a mainstay on special teams, and now, in the wake of Davion Taylor’s injury, there’s a possibility he slides up on the depth chart to play the role of the reserve for T.J. Edwards and Alex Singleton.
Bradley has been everywhere on special teams. If you’ll remember, he recovered T.J. Edwards’ blocked punt and set the Birds up for the win in Week 5 versus the Carolina Panthers, and for the Eagles, a team that has normally, dedicated a safety to play the role of their special teams ace, it looks like they may have found another weapon in one of their young linebackers.
