player. 13. . . . Mike Williams, Chargers. 3

The Eagles got a decent look at Mike Williams versus the Chargers.

Mike Williams‘ recent outing versus the Philadelphia Eagles wasn’t one of his best (thankfully). He was targeted five times, he hauled in two receptions, and the result was 58 yards receiving for the former Clemson Tiger.

His off day was part of the reason why the Birds had a shot late, but it still needs to be mentioned that those types of performances aren’t representative of what an NFL offense gets from having a weapon like him on the outside.

Over his first 68 appearances in a regular-season game for the Los Angeles Chargers, Williams hauled in over 200 passes resulting in more than 3,300 receiving yards and 24 trips to the end zone.

Physically, he’s the mismatch that Jalen Reagor has no shot at being at six-foot-four and 218 pounds. You can’t coach size right? As small as some of these guys look on television these days, the eyeball test tells us that Williams could play the power forward position for quite a few college basketball programs.

From the standpoint of just evaluating his gifts for playing the wide receiver position at the NFL level, let’s just put things this way. Williams is that bully that we were told JJ Arcega-Whiteside could wind up being. He’s a better route-runner than Reagor (and he has better hands). In short, Williams could walk onto the Eagles roster right now and beat out Reagor for his spot opposite of DeVonta Smith. It would be hard to make an argument for the contrary.
