Philadelphia Eagles 2022 NFL Draft prospects: Kayvon Thibodeaux

One day after the Eagles put a bow on their Week 13 victory over the New York Jets, as expected, Oregon Ducks standout Kayvon Thibodeaux announced that he would forego the 2022 college football season to enter the next NFL Draft. Once the NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, opens the proceedings, it’s doubtful that Thibodeaux will have to wait too long before he hears his name called. He’s definitely given the Oregon Ducks plenty of reason to remember.

The six-foot-five, 250-pound former Pac-12 Defensive Freshman of the Year has announced that he won’t be playing in the Ducks’ bowl game, so his final season concludes with 49 tackles and 12 sacks. That brings his career total to 126 total tackles, 19 sacks, three forced fumbles, and seven pass breakups in 30 career games.

It’s unlikely that he’ll still be on the board when the Birds are on the clock, so unless they plan on trading up, this one’s a longshot. Still, there’s no way that he won’t be on their draft board.

Make sure you pay close attention to his journey. It will be interesting to see if he miraculously lands with the Philadelphia Eagles or where he might wind up if he doesn’t.

Honorable mention: Travon Walker (Georgia), Drake Jackson (USC),  Logan Hall (Houston), and Wil McDonald IV, (Iowa State) are all talented but more than likely Day 2 guys. Keep an eye on them though. Things can change between now and April.
