. . . Andre Dillard, left tackle. 77. player. 54

Andre Dillard is already a bust for this Philadelphia Eagles team.

Think about something for a second. In 2016, the Philadelphia Eagles drafted Carson Wentz in the first round. They took Derek Barnett in the first round in 2017. They didn’t have a first-round choice in 2018, and in 2019 and 2020, their respective first-round draft choices were Andre Dillard and Jalen Reagor.

How’s all of that working out for them?

For three seasons, we’ve questioned Dillard’s mental and physical toughness, and while we’ve watched guys who never played football before 2018 pass him on the depth chart (Jordan Mailata), we’ve also recently watched the Eagles extend Mailata, promote one of their practice squad members to the active roster (Le’Raven Clark), and give him a two-year deal. Meanwhile, they’ve given zero thought to extending the guy that they used the 22nd-overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft on.

If that doesn’t tell you how much they value Andre Dillard, nothing will. At this point, the only value he has is as a trade commodity. Four starts and 278 snaps during the 2021 season, though he was impressive for the most part, doesn’t change any of that.
