Another of Howie’s offseason Eagles acquisitions might be one and done.

2022 status: Unrestricted free agent

After completing one of what’s become one of Howie’s normal annual off-season tasks, finagling the team salary into being cap compliant, the Birds had a little coin to toss around during the 2021 offseason. Howie handed out deals, most of the one-year variety, to familiar faces like Boston Scott and Greg Ward as well as some low-risk and high-reward guys like Andrew Adams, Anthony Harris, Eric Wilson, and Ryan Kerrigan.

Adams didn’t make it to the regular season. He was waived on August 31st. Wilson was awful and released on November 3rd. Kerrigan doesn’t appear to have anything left, and Harris, despite being the best of this bunch, hasn’t done anything that demonstrates he needs to be extended and a part of this team’s future.

Philadelphia’s best bet is finding some young talent in the coming draft to mold and coach up. This team keeps signing these quick fixes/band-aids because they miss on draft picks and then have to mask that by overpaying for veterans.

With more than ten picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, Philly will have some opportunities to forge a new future. That’s good news. The bad news is it will again be Roseman that’s in charge of making those selections.
