Here’s the Philadelphia Eagles scouting report for Washington.

During the Week 15 matchup, Washington didn’t get much out of their running game. Antonio Gibson was dealing with a toe injury, which still seems to be slowing him down some, but despite that, he still found his way into the end zone versus the Eagles. Other than that, injuries and Philly’s defense held him in check as he finished the game with only 26 rushing yards.

COVID-19 concerns ahead of the Tuesday night affair forced newly-signed Garrett Gilbert into action as Washington was without Taylor Heincke and Kyle Allen.

Washington can run the ball with the best of them, but for whatever reason, they elected to allow Gilbert to throw the ball 31 times.

Philadelphia’s arch-rivals from our nation’s capital only ran the ball 21 times in that game. Perhaps Jaret Patterson could have shouldered the load, but he only saw four touches in the game. One went for another Washington touchdown. Perhaps sticking with the ground game would have helped their cause more. We won’t complain, but they failed their quarterback by abandoning the running game.

Again, as mentioned earlier, Washington running backs aren’t getting a lot of touches, but they might be Washington’s only chance of putting points on the scoreboard. Gibson and Patterson have combined for 18 of Washington’s 31 points over the past two weeks.
