The Bears’ final rally versus the Eagles ends with a double-doink.

Yep! The double-doink game finds its way onto the list. How could we have possibly left this one off of our countdown?

This one’s good enough to land in the top five, but it earns a last-place finish for one reason. Watching a replay of this one is almost like watching The Usual Suspects for the 100th time. You know how it ends. Heck, it’s a tense tale that has one of the greatest endings that we’ve ever seen, but the more you see it, something begins to dawn on you.

Sometimes, the ending can be so great that it allows people to believe the first couple of hours is as great as the twist that comes in the final five minutes. The Usual Suspects wasn’t a great movie until its conclusion. The ending makes the entire product rank better than it probably should.

In terms of this game, the same rules apply. As one grows older, it’s hard to remember anything that happened before Nick Foles’ touchdown pass to Golden Tate that put the Eagles up on the scoreboard.

The Bears would attempt to rally, but the game came down to Chicago’s placekicker Cody Parkey, and his miss (the double-doink) is one of the most memorable moments in Philadelphia sports history. The fact that he once played for the Eagles makes this one even more bizarre.
