Unfortunately, the Eagles won’t get everything they want in the first round.

As soon as the smoke cleared and the dust settled following the Philadelphia Eagles‘ shellacking at the hands of the defending Super Bowl Champions, reality set in for the remaining members of Philly’s contingent who had not yet accepted the truth.

Yes, this was a rebuilding year. We might have lost sight of that some because this team made a playoff appearance. That has to be seen as overachieving though, right?

We knew this team beat inferior teams. We knew that they were a long way from being contenders, but dang, it felt good to win some games, didn’t it?

The final score of Philly’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was 31-15, but don’t let the 16-point margin fool you. The game was never that close. Now, the task is about getting better. It’s full steam ahead towards another offseason.

The Eagles, as you know, have three first-round selections in the coming NFL Draft (if they don’t trade one of them). That’s the good news. The bad news, if it can be called that, is that none of them are in the top ten.

If nothing changes between now and the end of April, Philadelphia will select at 15, 16, and 19 in the first round of the selection meeting. Sure, they can find some talent there, but we can all but assure ourselves of something.

They’ll miss out on some of the guys who will be looked at as ‘sure things’. Here’s a ranking of four guys that fall in that category. These are four prospects that this team would love to have but probably have no shot at landing.
