Potential Eagles prospect Kyle Hamilton, safety

There may not be any Eagles games to watch for a while, and that’s a bummer. You have to love this time of the year though. Nothing beats seeing teams take their opportunities to improve the roster.

We all love mock drafts and free-agency theories, but it always begins with those prospect rankings. Between now and April, we’ll go back and forth and debate who the best players are at their respective positions. When the subject turns to the best safeties in the next draft class, expect to hear a couple of references to Kyle Hamilton of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

If we were to put our list together of the best safeties that will be available in 2022’s selection meeting, Penn State’s Jaquan Brisker, Brad Hawkins and Daxton Hill from Michigan, and USC’s Isaiah Pola-Moa would all find their names on a list that has Hamilton’s name on top of it.

Hamilton racked up 138 total tackles, eight interceptions, 16 pass breakups, and a defensive touchdown during 31 games and three college football seasons. With concerns about K’Von Wallace and the futures of both Rodney McLeod and Anthony Harris being uncertain, it could serve the Eagles well to invest in a safety.

Unfortunately, as much as Kyle Hamilton is a natural fit for Philly’s defense, one that could be a star in the making, it’s doubtful that he’ll be available when the Eagles have the opportunity to take him when they’re on the clock.
