Sub-radar, mid-round linebackers Eagles should watch at Senior Bowl
The Philadelphia Eagles had better be watching the Senior Bowl very closely.
If you obsess over the NFL’s offseason like so many of the rest of us, you’re no doubt pumped about the opportunity to see some of the guys that could wind up being among the next crop of Philadelphia Eagles rookies when the Senior Bowl is played on February 5th. As they say, ‘the draft starts in Mobile’.
For many of the more exceptional prospects, this is an opportunity to showcase what they can do versus some of the better NFL targets one final time. For many NFL scouts and draft pundits, this is a chance to get a nice look at these guys versus some talented peers after being mentored by NFL minds.
The Eagles will be paying attention, and you can best believe they’ll be looking at guys on the defensive side of the ball. We’ve discussed how Philadelphia has devalued the linebacker position. Might this be the year that they take a game-changer early? Arguments can be made for them taking a linebacker (or two) come April.
We’re all big fans of some of the guys that we think will go early like Damone Clark and Devin Lloyd, but what if Philly drafts a linebacker later, towards the mid-rounds for instance? There are several interesting prospects. They’ll be in Alabama as well. Here are six players that fall under that umbrella. Hopefully, the Eagles will be paying attention to what they have to offer.
