If your knowledge of Appalachian State Mountaineers football begins and ends with the fact that, a long time ago, they took their team to Ann Arbor, Michigan and took care of business versus the Michigan Wolverines, we’d like to take this opportunity to inform you that the accomplishments of this football program extend beyond that day. They’re playing some football in Boone, North Carolina.

D’Marco Jackson is a six-foot-one, 230-pound standout that provided some quality snaps in 2021 and finished his collegiate run with 114 tackles, five pass breakups, six sacks, and an interception. Keep an eye on him. It will be interesting to see if he takes the next step on February 5th.

Potential Eagles draft prospect Brian Asamoah, Oklahoma

Every year, we go on and on about the fact that defense is an afterthought in the Big 12 Conference. Every program is obsessed with how to score more points. Don’t blame guys like Brian Asamoah for that though. He’s someone we could be talking about once we reach the NFL Scouting Combine.

Asamoah tallied 168 tackles, five sacks, an interception, five pass breakups, and three forced fumbles in 32 career games. He could be a riser if can demonstrate a propensity for being an asset in pass coverage.
