Could the Eagles land the draft’s best interior lineman for a second straight year?

While taking an injured prospect who had seen his stock fall didn’t pay off with Philadelphia’s selection of Sidney Jones, they hit the jackpot by selecting Landon Dickerson in 2021. The former Alabama standout had to watch from the sideline while The Tide put a capper on another College Football Playoff National Championship, their third (and their 18th claimed national title overall), but despite his late-season injury, there were theories that, if he could get healthy, the team that takes him would have acquired the best interior offensive lineman in the draft.

That seems to be a valid statement, and now, heading into 2022’s version of the NFL Draft, there are theories that the best decision for this Eagles team is to snatch the best interior offensive lineman in the next draft as well. That looks to be Tyler Linderbaum of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Like Gardner and Lloyd, the possibility of his name being off the table when the Eagles are on the clock at 15 is high, but if he is available, it could be hard for the Birds to look past him. Though not as athletic, his selection gives Philadelphia a successor to Jason Kelce, and it ensures the recent success we’ve seen with the NFL’s best offensive line carries on for years to come.
