The Eagles could be on a collision course with another FSU EDGE star.

There’s always a market for great pass rushers in the NFL, and anyone with a desperate need for one in the first round should consider themselves lucky. There are quite a few future EDGE stars in the next draft class.

The bad news for anyone picking in the back half of Round 1 is this. The future perennial All-Pros and Pro Bowlers are going to go quickly. Aidan Hutchinson (Michigan Wolverines) and Kayvon Thibodeaux (Oregon Ducks) might be taken with the first two draft picks, held by the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Detroit Lions respectively.

George Karlaftis (Purdue Boilermakers) and David Ojabo (Michigan) might be off of the board by the time the Birds are on the clock. Depending on whether or not Florida State’s Jermaine Johnson II rises or continues to be seen as, possibly, the fifth-best EDGE star in this draft class, he figures to be available for the Philadelphia Eagles sometime around the 15th or 16th-overall selection.

He’d be a jackpot selection for the Birds if they acquire him. After transferring from Georgia, he notched 70 tackles, 11.5 sacks, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and a defensive touchdown.

The last time the Eagles added a pass rusher from FSU, things worked out pretty well. Only time will tell if they scribble the name of another on one of their draft cards.
