5 Philadelphia Eagles who are primed for breakout seasons in 2022
Let’s hope Jack Driscoll leaves the injury bug in the rear-view mirror.
It didn’t take long to figure out that Jack Driscoll could be special. At six-foot-five and 312 pounds, before he even stepped on an NFL field, he just looked the part of a star offensive lineman. The questions were about whether or not he’d play like one. We got a very encouraging answer very quickly.
As 2020’s training camp wore on, Driscoll impressed on a day-in and day-out basis, earning the respect of everyone from Brandon Graham to his offensive teammates.
Driscoll is one of the NFL’s best young offensive linemen when he’s been on the field. The problem is he hasn’t been able to stay on the field. Twice in his first two seasons, his run with his Eagles teammates ended with a trip to the injured reserve. Questions are being asked about whether or not he’s fragile. The hope is he isn’t because the offensive line didn’t miss a beat when he stepped in for Brandon Brooks.
He’s equally adept at playing guard and tackle, and in today’s NFL, that’s the type of skill set that teams pay top dollar for. The Eagles, fortunately, get to slide by on the fact that he’s playing on a rookie deal for two more seasons.
