More sub-radar free agents Eagles can consider this offseason

Potential Eagles free-agent target Charvarius Ward
The Philadelphia Eagles should look to one of the best teams in the league for a possible upgrade for their own secondary. It’s no secret that they need to upgrade their cornerback position, and one of the most underrated backs in free agency, Charvarius Ward, could be the cure for what ails them.
Steven Nelson and Ward were comparable in 2021, with Ward only having 17 more tackles and one more interception than Nelson, but now, seeing as how Ward is four years younger than Nelson (and with the knowledge that Darius Slay isn’t getting any younger), Ward seems like a solid piece to add, potentially.
Ward has had only four interceptions in his career, with two of them coming in his most recent season, but where he shines is in his ability to limit receptions and big plays after the reception. If you compare his total number of tackles to what Darius Slay did in the first four seasons of his career, Ward has 24 more. You aren’t going to run past him either.
Ward can run stride-for-stride with anyone. He can tackle, and he can get his hands on the ball to create pass breakups.
The Eagles were very good at limiting big plays this season, but they struggled to prevent the short gains and ‘RAC’ yards (run-after-catch). Ward helps with this.
Free agency will be interesting as guys like wide receiver Allen Robinson, linebacker Hassan Reddick, and safety Quandre Diggs will tickle the fancies of Eagles fans, but Smith-Schuster, Turner, and Ward are all interesting in their own way. We’ll have to wait and see if the Birds are interested.
