The Eagles trade back to the 20th-overall selection and land a wideout.

Each time we ran Pro Football Network’s Mock Draft Simulator, there were trade offers at the 18th-overall selection. Two teams kept popping up, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Indianapolis Colts.

We liked Pittsburgh’s offer better, particularly because Indy doesn’t have a first-rounder in 2022 to offer. The Birds slide back two spots to 20. The Steelers leap ahead of the New Orleans Saints who now own the 19th selection (New Orleans also owns the 16th selection).

New Orleans ignores a signal-caller in all three simulations at 16. The theory here is the Steelers, in their fear of the Saints’ possible interest in a quarterback, try to get the jump on them by moving ahead of them. Kenny Pickett winds up being their selection in the first simulation. Malik Willis is their selection in the second and third.

That also means Philly has back-to-back selections at 51 and 52 in Round 2 now.

As the NFL Drat nears, certain prospects’ names are being heard in conjunction with the Birds more often. One is the one belonging to Jameson Williams.

As mentioned earlier, he winds up being Philly’s first choice in the second simulation. If he’s off of the board early, which is a very real possibility, it would seem they’d be eyeing Chris Olave as a very acceptable consolation prize. He might be the best route-runner and deep threat in the class.

Simulation 2: Trent McDuffie (Washington cornerback)

The Eagles land what might be the best cornerback prospect in the class after Derek Stingley and Ahmad Gardner. Both were already off of the board in all three simulations once Philadelphia was on the clock at 15.

Simulation 3: Drake London (USC wide receiver)

Drake London has been described as the best wide receiver in the class. He’s also been labeled as someone who could slide to the middle of Round 1. He’s been linked to Philadelphia in several mocks, including this one. He’s the 20th-overall selection in the third sim.
