54. . . . Jason Huntley, running back. 32. player

Can Jason Huntley finally seize his opportunity or are we watching his final days in an Eagles jersey?

A glance at the Eagles roster tells us that Jason Huntley and Mario Goodrich will both wear the Number 32 jersey during the preseason. Pay attention to both as they’ll make noise.

Goodrich is a phenomenal talent in a cornerback competition that seems to be wide open once you get past Darius Slay, James Bradberry, and Avonte Maddox (No disrespect is intended to Zech McPhearson, but he’s no lock to make the roster).

Huntley is a speedster that figures to find himself in a battle with Kennedy Brooks for the fourth and final running back spot on the Eagles’ depth chart (if Philly keeps four tailbacks on the 53-man roster). Expect to see fireworks from Huntley as he’ll be playing versus backups and guys who may not make the opposing teams’ rosters.

He arrived in the City of Brotherly Love in 2020 as an addition to the previous coaching regime’s wheelhouse, so there’s no loyalty to him from the current staff. He does have his support in the Eagles media and much of the fan base though. Here are four other young prospects that may join him as preseason fan favorites.

Again, winning a popularity contest won’t earn them jobs, but they’ll most certainly be conversation pieces.
