Mario Goodrich and Kennedy Brooks will be on someone’s roster in 2022. The question is will that be the Eagles’ roster?

As we moved through the most recent NFL offseason and approached the draft, there were several reports and mock drafts that kept linking the Philadelphia Eagles to former Clemson Tigers standout and 2021 First-Team All-ACC nod Andrew Booth. As it turned out, Booth landed with the Minnesota Vikings and the Birds wound up with his teammate Mario Goodrich.

No one should see that as a reason to feel any disappointment. Goodrich is far from a consolation prize.

They share nearly identical body types. Mario is six-foot-tall and 190 pounds. Booth is the same height but four pounds heavier. Both produced impressive stat lines in their final season at Clemson.

Mario notched 42 tackles, nine pass breakups, a forced fumble, two interceptions, and a defensive touchdown. Booth chipped into Clemson’s cause with 37 tackles, three picks, and five pass breakups. Trust us on this one. Philly has a baller on their hands.

. . . Kennedy Brooks, running back. 49. player. 54

Kennedy Brooks is a monster. There’s no doubt about it. At five-foot-eleven and 215 pounds, he brings a different skill set than Miles Sanders, Boston Scott, Kenneth Gainwell, and Jason Huntley.

The Eagles may have found their workhorse, their shirt-yardage guy. After racking up 3,320 rushing yards on 472 carries, another 209 yards on 29 career receptions, and 31 rushing touchdowns in 37 career games, anyone who’s seen this guy play is excited about the possibilities. It shouldn’t be long before the rest of the Birds fan base catches up if they haven’t been paying attention.
