3. Jordan Davis is a core piece in a new-look defense the Eagles are building (and he has help).

When the Philadelphia Eagles drafted Jordan Davis, he wasn’t the only Georgia defender they selected. In the third round, they took his teammate, linebacker Nakobe Dean. This was a huge steal for the organization and another immensely talented piece that the Birds can bring along slowly. Guys like this are what you’re looking for when building for the future.

Regardless of what you’ve been told or choose to believe, Dean has first-round talent. He didn’t generate a buzz for no reason. Georgia wouldn’t have won a national championship without him.

Misinformation about a rumored injury caused Dean to slide. He’s silenced almost all of them practicing all season and being healthy by the regular season’s beginning.

Davis and Dean were among Georgia’s brightest stars. They haven’t forgotten how to play. The NFL playbook is a thick one and the pair is still learning, but playing on one of the best defenses in pro football will pay off. Every snap each young man takes is invaluable.

With the uncertainty that surrounds Fletcher Cox and Javon Hargrave’s futures, Jordan Davis will likely be elevated to a starting role in 2023.

A passing of the baton nears. The good news is some of this team’s future leaders are already present, and Jordan Davis is most certainly one of them.
