Technically, not a defensive lineman, sixth-year man, 28-year-old Haason Reddick was a great signing for the Philadelphia Eagles this past off-season. This Temple University Alum and a New Jersey native was eager to play for the team he cheered for during his childhood years. Reddick brings versatility to an Eagles defense that greatly needed it upon his signing.

Haason Reddick has played as both a defensive end and an outside linebacker in the NFL, due to his rare combination of size, speed, athleticism, and strength. With the Eagles, Reddick is officially listed as a linebacker, but he plays a role as a pass rusher too.

So far during the 2022 campaign, Reddick has recorded 7.5 sacks and 26 total tackles. That includes six tackles that have resulted in a loss of yardage. He isn’t used exclusively on blitzes or short-down situations. According to Pro Football Focus, he has Haason Reddick has pressured the quarterback on 31 snaps this season. While he isn’t the prototypical linebacker or defensive end, he is the ultimate weapon.

He’s lined up both at the edge and as an outside backer. He has also lined up as a defensive end for some of his snaps. When discussing Philadelphia’s defensive line, it is impossible to ignore the presence he provides in pass-rushing situations. He’s going to be around for a while as he signed a $45 million deal on March 16th of 2022. He’ll be with the Eagles through 2024.
