DeVonta Smith’s best games of his brilliant 1,000-yard Eagles season
DeVonta Smith put on a show versus the Chicago Bears, and it was a joy to watch.
The Eagles visited Soldier Field in Week 15. They took the Chicago Bears’ best shot. They walked out almost frozen but as the owners of a 25-20 victory. Neither of their receivers reached the end zone in this one, but Philly got the win which is the most important thing.
A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith ripped the Bears’ defense apart to the tune of a combined 307 receiving yards in the win. Smith accounted for 126 of those yards. He also averaged 25.2 yards per catch in the game. It was a nice day at the office for Number 6 as he eclipsed the 100-yard mark in the first half.
Smith’s best moment in this one was another highlight-reel moment. During the early minutes of the second quarter, and with the Birds scrimmaging from their own 21-yard line during a second-and-eight scenario, Jalen Hurts found his guy over the middle of the field, and DeVonta would do the rest of the heavy lifting for a 45-yard gain.
Number 6 padded the stat total in the second half, adding another pair of catches and 22 yards receiving to put the bow on another fine performance.
Oh, and speaking of fine performances, does it get any better than his latest effort?
