Philadelphia Eagles 2023 projected free agents: Tier 5, ‘The Expendables’

Boston Scott is the exception on this list. We have always recognized that he has value, but it has never felt like the Philadelphia Eagles agree with us, so for now, The Giant Killer lands on The Expendables Tier with three more of his teammates.

21. Tyree Jackson, tight end

At the risk of sounding disrespectful, Tyree Jackson has become one of those guys that the Eagles, for whatever reason, can’t admit that they were wrong about. He’s large in frame (six-foot-seven and 249 pounds), so the thought existed that he could be a secret weapon at tight end. Still, every time we watch him play, it becomes increasingly apparent that the experiment needs to end.

20. Sua Opeta, guard

Whether you’re a fan of Pro Football Focus or not, their stat engine is often worthy of a conversation. For most of the season, Sua Opeta has been one of their worst-ranked Eagles. Currently, practice squad tight end Noah Togiai is the only Bird who has seen in-game action that is ranked behind him.

19. Robert Quinn, defensive end

Simply put, the Eagles rolled the dice on Robert Quinn, and they lost. He has had a good career, but there isn’t much left. He won’t be back in 2023.
