Typically, when someone says that ‘history always repeats itself’, they’re normally discussing some reoccurrence and doing so from a negative viewpoint, but occasionally, that statement takes on a positive meaning. Saturday night’s Divisional Round Game featuring the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants was played on the fifth-year anniversary of a game that sent the Birds to Super Bowl LII.

The venue was the same. The opponent was different, but the results were almost identical. The hometown fans were treated to another phenomenal offensive showing. This one was led by Jalen Hurts.

How about this for fodder? We’ll be talking about this one all day on Sunday!

Yes indeed friends! The final score of the Eagles’ Divisional Round Game was identical to the NFC Championship Game played on the same date five years prior.

Coincidence? The evidence of something divine taking place? Maybe a little of both! Regardless of where you stand when it comes to that conversation, it’s hard not to smile when you think of what’s happening.

More Eagles news: Eli Manning feels the fire on social media.

Eagles fans could never play the cornerback position. NFL defensive backs are taught, whether good things happen or bad, that they’re expected to have short memories. They should never get too high following success or too low following failure. Here’s where the rubber meets the road and why Birds fans would fail at that task. They, on the other hand, remember everything.

Once upon a time, a little over a year ago to be exact, during ESPN’s alternate coverage of Monday Night Football on their ManningCast, Eli Manning gave a nine-year-old Birds fan the double-bird salute. Well, that sin had to be punished.

Peyton’s little brother was in attendance for Philly’s shellacking of the G-Men on Saturday. As you might expect, that little nugget didn’t get past anyone.

Did you notice the ‘double birds’ there? Things only got worse when he was spotted at Lincoln Finacial Field and after Philly put a bow on their beatdown of the G-Men!

Oh, and by the way, fans of Big Blue are STILL unwelcome at The Linc!

To be totally transparent and honest, we have no issues with this type of behavior whatsoever. With that, we put a bow on the Divisional Round.

NFL news: Now, all the Eagles need is an opponent for the NFC Championship Game!

With Philly’s win, they await the winner of the Dallas Cowboys versus San Francisco 49ers game. The winner of that one punches their ticket to the NFC Championship Game and a showdown with Philly for the right to play in the Super Bowl.

It would be nice to beat the Giants and Cowboys in the same postseason, but something tells us they won’t get past the Niners. We’ll have to wait and see, but we’ll have an answer later on today!
