856. . . . Tyler Lacy, Oklahoma State . 10. player

Tyler Lacy is a six-foot-four, 295-pound prospect who was a key cog in the Oklahoma State Cowboys’ D-line. We typically don’t discuss the Big 12 for its defensive prowess, but guys like this one make us rewrite that rule. The Philadelphia Eagles, like most NFL teams, value versatility, and Lacy can play in both the 4-3 and 3-4 defensive schemes. He’s probably a defensive end in the 3-4.

He’s praised for his hands and legs while also being criticized for his stiff frame, but with the guidance of Tracy Rocker, he could be special. Look for him to come off of draft boards late in the second day of the NFL Draft or relatively early once we reach the third day.

player. 829. . . . Byron Young, Alabama . 9

Byron Young is a six-foot-three, 292-pound Day 2 prospect that started all 13 games in 2022 and racked up 48 tackles, four sacks, two pass breakups, and a forced fumble en route to First-Team All-SEC accolades from the Associated Press. He has the versatility to align in both odd and even fronts, but he should be brought along slowly with the hope that he’d become a starter later.
