Henry Ruggs III posted the fastest 40-yard dash time at the 2020 NFL Combine.

Speedster Henry Ruggs III made a name for himself as a member of the Crimson Tide by leaving opponents in the dust. At the 2020 NFL Combine, he did the same thing, posting a 4.27-second 40-yard dash.

Ruggs also ran track, but only in high school. Let’s just say he wasn’t rusty at all. During his first three years at the University of Alabama, this native would show off that speed by hauling in 98 receptions for 1,716 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns. He averaged 17.5 yards per reception during those three seasons.

In the 2020 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders selected Ruggs 12th overall in the first round. It appears they never lost that love for speed. He was the first wideout chosen during that draft and caught 26 receptions for 452 yards with two touchdowns in his rookie campaign.

His 2021 season added  24 receptions,  469 yards receiving, and two touchdowns during seven games to his professional resume.

Ruggs was released by the Raiders following a car accident resulting in the death of 23-year-old Tina Tintor and her dog and a DUI charge for Ruggs. Henry was reportedly driving 156 miles per hour while heavily under the influence. He’s also been charged with reckless driving as a result of what can only be described as an unfortunate tragedy.
