For the second straight season, the Eagles shock the NFL world with a first-round trade that no one saw coming. This time they elevate the defense.

Yep, we took it there. For the second year in a row, the Eagles shock the world with a huge trade on the first night of the NFL Draft. We talked with Carolina Panthers writers all day, and this one took a long time to put together. Hear us out though. We think Brian Burns in an Eagles jersey makes a lot of sense.

If you’ll remember, before the close of the most recent regular season, the Panthers had themselves one heck of a fire sale, shipping out, among others, Christian Mccaffrey. We thought they’d try and shed Brian Burns’ hefty contract. He is scheduled to earn $16 million in 2023. Philly, after creating some cap space, may be able to position itself to make a move.
