. . . Quez Watkins, wide receiver. 16. player. 54

The jury is still out on Quez Watkins in Philly, but that means the rest of the NFL doesn’t know what his ceiling is either.

There’s much that we can say about Quez Watkins, but it makes sense to recycle something that we just said about Derek Barnett. It may be time to give up on Number 16 if you haven’t given up on him already.

Poll 16 Philadelphia Eagles fans about how good Quez is, and there’s a strong chance that you might wind up with 16 different answers. Some don’t have any issues. Others can’t believe Philly hasn’t moved on already. Guess what? Sometimes, that’s all you need to get some trade talks underway.

Hey, if we can’t come to some common ground on where he is in his development and we’ve watched him play for three seasons, you can best believe much of the rest of the NFL is lost too. After the draft and another wave of free-agency signings as we near the regular season, you might be surprised at how many teams might be willing to take a chance on him. This is a passing league remember?

Here’s a little nugget. Remember this for as long as you live. There’s always a coach that believes he can bring something out of a guy that another coach couldn’t. That’s why so many NFL players get second chances when you think they won’t, remember when some of you thought that no one would trade for Jalen Reagor?

Quez possesses a trait that so many coaches love… speed. If Philly can find a true slot receiver and maybe another quality reserve, this may be one of the best bargaining pieces that they have.
